Trailer Shoot Gets Pushed Back

To accommodate the talent, acquire sufficient equipment, and secure locations, the shoot for the trailer is now being pushed forward to the end of March, possibly early April.  Things were getting a little rushed while preparing to shoot this past weekend, so producer A.J. Blizzard decided to take more time to get everything together so as to not take away from everyone’s hard work so far and make a good teaser trailer that everyone will feel confident presenting to investors.

In the meantime, the script, budget, and investment memorandum are complete and ready to be reviewed by an attorney before being sent out to potential investors, along with the finished teaser trailer.  Things are really shaping up, and with plenty of time left to play with before pre-production is slated to begin, chances are good that everything will continue to go according to plan.

Location Scouting & Screen Tests

Over the past few weeks, the guys have been a pretty busy bunch.  At the start of the new year, producer A.J. Blizzard and director Raymond Wood took the hike down to Moreland, Georgia, along with cinematographer Randall Blizzard and writer Chris Piner, to check out a potential location for the set of the town exterior where at least 50% of the film will be shot.  They were happy with what they saw, and later that week, A.J. got in contact with a local construction coordinator named Tony Kupersmith (with credits as far back as Driving Miss Daisy, all the way up to One Missed Call and Van Wilder 3: Freshman Year) who was intrigued by the project and very helpful in helping us figure out what it is going to take to get what we are looking for.

Then, this past week, A.J. and Raymond, along with Chris, met with a few local post-production houses with some pretty impressive credits to get an idea on where we want to edit the flick when the time comes and what we will be able to accomplish in what time frame.  Basically, we are in the process of getting a lot of questions answered and getting some rough quotes on things so we can finish up a sensible budget.

Finally, this weekend, we help screen tests for a few actors that we know personally and felt would fit certain parts in the film.  We wanted them to read for us so we could see how they portrayed the character and what things had room for improvement later on when we get deeper into development.  Reviewing what we saw, we were relieved to see that pretty much everyone met our expectations and at the very least had the potential that we were looking for.

In the very near future, we will have our video blog up and running, and you will be right there with us as we take the epic journey of developing this film and getting it made!
